By the end of As-Salaamu ‘Alaykum – Course 4, learners will be able to:

• Use expanded vocabulary and expressions related to markets, food, political systems, Arab tribes, music, migration, religious occasions, employment, and humanitarian work.
• Participate in extended conversations by asking and answering questions, expressing opinions, making comparisons, giving advice, explaining reasons, and responding appropriately in social situations.
• Understand intermediate reading texts and identify their main ideas, supporting details, vocabulary in context, purpose, and cultural information.
• Apply key grammatical and morphological structures accurately, including verb tenses, imperative and passive forms, derived verb patterns, nominal and verbal sentences, and prepositional and adverbial phrases.
• Understand spoken Arabic in dialogues, interviews, announcements, descriptions, and informational texts by identifying main ideas and specific details.
• Produce organized written texts, including invitations, congratulatory messages, personal and formal letters, descriptions, short reports, and opinion paragraphs, using appropriate punctuation.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness by discussing Arab customs, hospitality, traditional foods, tribal life, Arabic music, migration experiences, religious celebrations, and charitable practices.
• Complete communicative learning activities such as role-plays, pair discussions, picture descriptions, comparisons, information-gap tasks, surveys, and group presentations.
• Develop critical-thinking skills by examining social and cultural issues, comparing practices across societies, interpreting causes and effects, and supporting opinions with reasons and examples.
• Communicate with greater fluency, accuracy, and confidence across the four language skills while using Arabic in practical, academic, social, and culturally appropriate contexts.
