This is the second course in GoArabic's advanced stage or the 8th course of the MSA for adults' program.
Assalamu 'Alaykum Part Eight is the second course in GoArabic's advanced stage. It strengthens learners' ability to interpret, discuss, and produce sustained Modern Standard Arabic across historical, cultural, health, social, environmental, and economic domains. Across eight thematic modules and two cumulative revision modules, students engage with extended readings and authentic audio-visual materials on Islamic civilization, music, common diseases, historical turning points, social issues, climate change, unemployment, and global finance. The course expands academic and topic-based vocabulary while deepening control of derived verb meanings, the morphological scale, adjective-like forms, adverbial structures, diptotes, and advanced sentence patterns such as objects of cause and accompaniment, circumstantial clauses, specification, vocatives, and predicate fronting. It also develops a coherent sequence in Arabic rhetoric—from eloquence and the sciences of balagha to declarative and performative speech, restriction, imperatives, prohibitions, interrogation, and vocative functions. Writing progresses from description, advice, and the résumé to summarizing, article development, cohesion, and accurate hamza spelling. By the end of the course, learners are better prepared to analyze sources, compare viewpoints, explain causes and consequences, and communicate informed positions with greater accuracy, fluency, and cultural awareness.
